Hello everyone!
My name is Camille and I"m from Montreal in Quebec (Canada). I am 16 years old and normaly I speak french, so my english is not fantastic.
I am in an Art school.
One day my sister came to me and said "Hey I saw a nice guy on youtube, his name is Eugene Hutz from Gogol Bordello!"
Since then, Gogol Bordello is my favorite band. Even if I"m just 16, GB helps me to have a different view of the world.
What more can I say? |

Hello, everybody!!
My name is Roman, i live in Kyiv, in Eugene's motherland:) I'm 17 and i'm a student of the university.
But unfortunately, despite Eugene is from Ukraine, i heard about Gogol Bordello only last summer and only because GB was going to perform in Lviv. Since that time i listen to GB all the time, and the concert in Kyiv (Balkanfest) was one of the best shows in my life.
oh..and sorry for not perfect english:) |

Hello Hello!
My name's Phil, I'm from Philadelphia.
I just stumbled upon this forum and immediately had to sign up!
I've been a fan since '06, I haven't had a chance to see GB yet, but my chance comes up May 1st!
I'm here to hopefully get some research on what exactly I should expect from the show, as well as meet some awesome people! |

I once talked to a guy standing next to me in the audience, a couple of minutes before the show started, and he said it was his first show and what he should expect. I said, in full concert-anticipation bliss, "A life-changing experience!" He chuckled a bit about it, then the concert started.
After the concert, he was too overwhelmed and exhausted to say anything, it was just a huge wide grin and a double thumbs-up! |

I am Martina, 28 and a brand new fan of GB but I guess better late than never right? I looove travelling (also for gigs hah), crazy humour and have somewhat of an unhealthy obsession with green tea, Scotland and Morrissey, hehe. _________________ We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars. |

Hello!
I am Belowen, 25 years old from Australia. I do admit that I am more of a Pam/Fashion fan than a hardcore GB fan, but I have liked GB for quite a few years now & they are one of my fiance's favourite bands. I will (hopefully) be seeing them live for the first time on Sunday.

I'm a Slavic nomad living in American suburbia. I heard GB a few years ago at a party and it's been love ever since. There's nothing quite like dancing in a group of people with Gogol Bordello playing. Anyway, Hi! _________________ Jestem więźniem Twojej muzykie. |

Hello all!
Sorry it's taken me a minute to post here...
My name is Jessica, I'm 34 and live in NYC, Brooklyn to be exact. I've been a fan of Gogol Bordello for about 6 years now. My friends think I'm a wee bit obsessed with them but hey-there are MUCH worse things a person can obsess over
I've led a pretty crazy life-too much to get into here...
I can't really say I have a favorite GB song...maybe 'Through the Roof'-it's the one I listen to the most, followed closely by 'Undestructable'. I can say that I can't think of even one that I don't like though.
I wish I would have found this forum years ago-I wasn't really a big computer person until recently but I'm stoked to have found it now, a whole community of people that love GB as much as I do? Brilliant!
One of my favorite things: listening to GB on my headphones while riding the subway-people's reactions to a happy person always amuse me even more _________________ -The only way to go is underground... |

I did it, Alison - I finally did it!! I worked out how to register!
I'm such a technophobe, so tried a few times, and will no doubt be just as rubbish on here as I am on facebook, but you never know...
Hey to everyone, I'm Elly - been a fan since about 2005/2006, when I first heard GB on *ahem* Radio 2, instantly entranced by Greencard Husband, and just needed to hear more!
See y'all around, no doubt |

Hi, I've never submitted anything like this before but here goes.
I'm Nicola, 34, live in Warwickshire (centre of England), have 3 children, work for a local council, live a life that most would consider boring (children, dog, allotment, music, long walks, no tv). I discovered Gogol by accident in April 2005 when I was going through a very difficult patch, as with most people it was start wearing purple - a song that speaks to me on so many levels, although I may be fitting an interpretation to fit in with my life.
I have seen them 5 times now and on the last 2 occasions I had the joy of watching the show from the front (it's where I need to be really as I'm too much of a short arse to see anything from the middle or back). I too gain great enjoyment from listening to them on my journey to and from work although I have an old car so I still have to convert all cds to tape.
If I'm sad I play Gogol, if I'm happy I play Gogol, if I'm stressed I play Gogol - basically they fit in with every mood I have and I always come out at the other end feeling better. I do listen to other music but generally find most live music a little boring towards the end of the show. With Gogol I only ever want more. I can't say I have met the band (shaken hands at the end of the show that's it) or I have attended amazing after show parties because I haven't but maybe one day........ |

Hello everyone!
Thought I'd introduce myself here, seems like the right thing to do as a new member of the avenue-b forum. I'm from Holland, near Amsterdam.
I'm 27 and have been a Gogol Bordello ever since they appeared on the Henry Rollins show. I watched the episode because of the interview with Gore Vidal and was planning to stop watching before the music started. For some reason I kept watching and saw 60 revolutions for the first time. Within 30 seconds I was sold Once I had heard all their other songs I was sold for life.
Other music I enjoy... Radiohead, R.E.M. and... well.. many, many others.
Have never seen Gogol Bordello live, but hopefully that will change in Amsterdam June 1st |

I'm Dario, I'm 20, I'm a Londoner and I am a GB fan since 2005, when I read an interview with Eugene Hutz in the Guardian. I bought Gypsy Punks, then a couple of months later all the other albums, and haven't looked back since. 5 years and 6 GB shows later...Voi-La Intruder is still my favourite album of all time, by anyone.

Hello hello!
My name is August, I am 21 years old and I live in Hamburg.
I am a huge fan since my brother took me to a concert of Gogol Bordello 6 years ago. Since then I am absolutly loving them. I went to their gig here in Hamburg 3 days ago and they approved that they are the best band on the planet again.
Actually my grandparents come from the Ukraine, and I am studying Russian language.
So hello! |

Hello everyone!
My name is Alex Smith, I am 17 and I live in Sidmouth, Devon. I have listened to Gogol Bordello for perhaps a year and a half, but only recently really gotten into them and started combing all of the records to find my favorites around the start of this year.
I confess to never yet having seen a band live before at all! I plan to lose my concert virginity to Gogol Bordello in due time...
My favorite track is probably immigriniada/ultimate.
Edit: Wait, I forgot Forces of Victory! That song is epic. _________________ MISHTO! |

Hello.
My name is Alan and I am 28. I teach English at a private school in Yorkshire and I live in Sheffield. Sheffield is marvellous and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Hmm...
Things I like include.... Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Six Feet Under, The Wire, Carnivale etc (the usual HBO drama-box-set fare) for TV shows; movies by Woody Allen; literature by Flannery O'Connor, Edmund White, David Foster Wallace, Carson McCullers, George Orwell, P. G. Wodehouse, Anais Nin, William Burroughs, etc, and poetry by Frank O'Hara and Philip Larkin. I like Clive James and Christopher Hitchens, and I think The Catcher in the Rye in fact IS a genuinely brilliant novel. I am increasingly ambivalent about the postmodernism I studied at University.
I am interested in current affairs, writing, feminism, poetry and stand-up comedy. I consider myself left-wing although am increasingly dismayed by various aspects of left-wing thought at this point. I teach kids from age 11 up to 18 and if I have to read fucking Seamus Heaney one more time I will shoot somebody in the face with my poetry gun.
What else, what else... oh! music! Um... the usual suspects: a lot of stuff from Warp, Constellation, Morr and Saddle Creek. Anything Ellen Allien touches. Ash. The Hold Steady. Augie March (who would be as big as the Arcade Fire if they were American or Canadian; damn you, Pitchfork). Veda Hille, Tori Amos, Idlewild, The Fall, Nick Cave, Saint Etienne, Talking Heads and Lady Gaga. Gogol Bordello are not on this list.
Pleasure to make yer acquaintance. |

| My name is Robin. I'm an artist living out in the middle of the Mojave desert in a funky weird town. I found out about GB about 5 years ago and was absolutely thrilled! I haven't been this excited about a band since the Dead Kennedys & Flipper. I guesss this really dates me. I used to slam dance at the Mabuhay Gardens in San Francisco years ago. |
